At our livestock auction barn, we prioritize the well-being of your animals. From deworming and respiratory infection prevention to essential procedures like dehorning and castration, we've got you covered. We offer a comprehensive range of vaccinations, with a recommendation for killed vaccines due to the auction environment's stress. Additionally, our cow aging, pregnancy palpation, and ear tagging services ensure transparency and ease for both buyers and sellers. Dehorning and Castration
Dehorning
At CCALE, humane treatment of the animal is our goal. Every dehorning is done like we would do it in our veterinary hospital. The area is numbed so that pain is not felt by the animal. This makes for less stress and better health for the animal. The pain medication usually lasts for three days.
Price for dehorning depends on size of animal.
Castration
We will take care of castration for you, no matter what size. We will castrate baby calves up to mature bulls. Every castration includes a tetanus antitoxin to prevent your newly purchased animal from getting tetanus.
Castration includes band or castration, tetanus, anti-toxin, and pain medication.
Total cost is $15 per animal.

Pregnancy Checks & Aging of Animal
Pregnancy Check and Aging (By Mouth) $8 Per Animal
We have the capability to do pregnancy ultrasounds. We offer pregnancy checks at the Tuesday Cattle Auction as well as pregnancy ultrasounds (with advance request) on goats at our Small Animal Auction.
